House Clearance Birmingham, West Midlands and Warwickshire

We have been granted a Waste Carrier's Licence by the Environment Agency.

This means we can now offer a full or part house clearance service. We also offer a rubbish and junk disposal service, whether for just one item or a van full.

We operate in an area that roughly covers Birmingham, Tamworth, Atherstone, Hinckley, Nuneaton, Bedworth, Coventry, Rugby, Solihull, Sutton Coldfield, Meriden, Balsall Common, Kenilworth, Warwick, Leamington Spa, Stratford on Avon.

We use local authority trade waste recycling facilities, ensuring that all items are either recycled or properly disposed of. If using house clearance services or just someone to remove general rubbish, ask to see their Waste Carrier's licence. If they don't have it in their vehicle (it's credit card sized) then YOU can be fined if the vehicle is stopped for a spot-check or if items are not properly and legally disposed of. Anyone who charges a fee to carry someone else's rubbish must be registered with the Environment Agency.

So, if it's a full house that needs emptying, just a room or a loft, a garage, office or small workshop, we're ready to deal with it promptly and efficiently. We are used to dealing with deceased estates and landlords where a tenant has vacated leaving a mess.

With the advantage of our storage facility, we can sort and store any items that you wish to keep for future collection or delivery.

All jobs are different, but to give you an idea, here's a description of a recent job we carried out:

An old lady living alone was taken to hospital but sadly passed away.

We were asked to clear the premises in preparation for a sale of the house.

We cleared the house (every room was stacked high with boxes, the contents of which dated back over 30 years). We put aside any paperwork and took it to the solicitor to check for any important documents, then shredded the rest for secure recycling. We moved certain items of furniture and jewellery to our storage facility. (These were items that relatives had requested along with some items that were to go to a local charity). The rest of the contents were sorted for recycling and taken to a local authority centre.

This was a three day job for a crew of two.

Over the following weeks we delivered various items to relatives based in different parts of the UK.

Rubbish and Junk Disposal

Our rates are based on the quantity of junk to be disposed of. Prices include all disposal charges made by the waste transfer station.

• Up to 3 items: £40. (A 3-piece suite will count as 3 items, a bed base, mattress and headboard will also count as 3 items).
• More than 3 items, up to half a van load: £50 to £75. Includes up to 30 minutes labour on site.
• Between half a van load and a full van load: £100 to £145. Includes up to 1 hour labour on site.

Additional costs: (add these to the above charges)

Environmental surcharge for disposal of:

• TV/computer monitor: £12 each
• domestic fridge/freezer, aircon unit: £25 each
• commercial fridge/freezer or large domestic chest freezer: £35 each
• car tyres £2 each
• truck or tractor tyres £4 each
• extra labour: £40 per hour

We'll not collect:

chemicals, paint, food waste, anything with faeces on it, any hazardous or dangerous materials (eg asbestos), anything that would endanger the crew (eg needles, drug user's items). The crew are instructed to abandon any job they feel is unsafe. All items must be readily accessible and ready to go; for example, we'll not collect an old bed that's buried under a load of brambles in the back garden.

Domestic fridge/freezer collected as single item: £50 including environmental surcharge

Rubble

We can only carry up to 1.4 tonnes on the van, which is roughly half a van full. However, due to disposal costs, we will charge the full van rate of £145. We can only collect rubble that is bagged.

Payment

Please pay the driver when he's finished loading. We accept cash, cheques supported by banker's card, credit or debit cards. You'll be asked to complete a Waste Transfer Form, so that the driver can legally transport your waste items.
